About the role

Founded by Chris Burton, the YouTube channel HalfAsleepChris is a long-running series of whimsical slice-of-life vlogs that blend stop-motion animation, LEGO creations, travelogs, cute animals, and heartfelt meditations on life. Since launching in 2017, the channel has amassed nearly 3 million subscribers and over 667 million views from all over the world.

The HalfAsleepChris channel is looking for a production coordinator on an hourly contract to support video production. The ideal candidate is creative, skilled, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Basic stop-motion filming (frame-by-frame photography).
  • Setting up shots: framing, lighting, and knolling (specialized set dressing)
  • Basic editing and assembly—familiarity with Logic Pro and Final Cut preferred (or equivalent non-linear audio-visual editing programs).
  • Sourcing, itemizing, and picking up materials and props for video shoots.
  • Occasionally operating a 3D printer and laser cutter for set dressing.
  • General administrative needs.

About you

  • Degree in film or video production preferred, but not required
  • Interest and awareness of the YouTube content landscape preferred
  • Familiarity with LEGO and the LEGO brand required
  • Ability to drive a vehicle required
  • Ability to travel internationally preferred
